Anne Frank - Diary of a young girl

Discovered in the attic in which she spent the last years of her life, Anne Frank's remarkable diary has since become a world classic—a powerful reminder of the horrors of war and an eloquent testament to the human spirit. In 1942, with Nazis occupying Holland, a thirteen-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding. For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, they and another family lived cloistered in the "Secret Annex" of an old office building. Cut off from the outside world, they faced hunger, boredom, the constant cruelties of living in confined quarters, and the ever-present threat of discovery and death. In her diary Anne Frank recorded vivid impressions of her experiences during this period.

By turns thoughtful, moving, and amusing, her account offers a fascinating commentary on human courage and frailty and a compelling self-portrait of a sensitive and spirited young woman whose promise was tragically cut short.

No matter what your age, gender, nationality, everyone should read this masterpiece.

Having re-read this three times, I guess it goes without saying that I am a fan of this wonderful novel.

It is difficult to imagine the hardship and living standards that this young girl had to endure, yet her diary can give us a glimpse into her ordeal. Though life was dull and her highlight of the week would be peeling potatoes, Anne managed to see through the darkness. This is what I admire about her.

I often find myself lost in her bubbly writing, immersing myself in her daily routines within the secret Annexe they lived in for two years. Even the most plain tasks are bought to life by Anne's passion for writing.

Reading the book, I frequently forget how young Anne was; as young as me. Yet, the sophistication and her understanding of the world is what keeps me flipping through her diary. Anne's concept of things are so intriguing and fascinating that it is difficult to imagine it being written by such a young teen.

Words can't quite express the aching I feel for Anne. The fact that she never got to forfill her dream of becoming an author is heartbreaking. Yet, I can't forget her words: 'I want to go on living after I die. I want to be remembered.'

Though young, I feel as though Anne understood such complex things, such as the shocking discrimination she was facing, the meaning of life, even the true meaning of love. All of these thoughts and many more were scribbled down in her checkered diary, and I can only thank her enough for sharing her imagination with the rest of the world.

Coraline: The Graphic Novel - Neil Gaimen

Shortly after moving into an old house with strange tenants above and below, Coraline discovers a big, carved, brown wooden door at the far corner of the drawing room. And it is locked. Curiosity runs riot in Coraline's mind and she unlocks the door to see what lies behind it. Disappointingly, it opens onto a brick wall.

Days later, after exploring the rest of the house and garden, Coraline returns to the same mysterious door and opens it again. This time, however, there is a dark hallway in front of her. Stepping inside, the place beyond has an eerie familiarity about it. The carpet and wallpaper are the same as in her flat. The picture hanging on the wall is the same. Almost. Strangest of all, her mum and dad are there too. Only they have buttons for eyes and seem more possessive than normal. It's a twisted version of her world that is familiar, and yet sinister. And matters get even more surreal for Coraline when her "other" parents seem reluctant to let her leave.

First review back and I've chosen one of my personal favorites: Coraline The Graphic Novel!

If you wern't aware already by my utter gushing I had for the written novel, then let me make this clear: I adore Coraline.

From it's quirkiness to it's spooky atmosphere, this novel has it all, and what's more? It has pictures! If you wern't familiar with the whole premise of this book, allow me to explain. The novel starts with a girl called Coraline, deprived of the love and attention from her parents. After seeking something to do from her parents, Coraline ends up exploring the house, only to uncover a small door.

Later that night, after many circumstances, she ends up climbing through inot what appears to be her house. Yet, no. This is not the case. Her parents have buttons for eyes!

Though her new life with her 'other parents' seems ideal, she later uncovers the shocking truth that she might not be able to escape.

One thing I love about Coraline is the characters. All of them have different and weird personalities. From circus trainee Mr Bobinsky, to the crazy ladies downstairs, Miss Spink and Forcible, all are different in there won ways and thus fun to get to know and explore.

The illustrations in this book are also wonderful, and utterly creepy! Evern more so than the written novel, in my opinion.

I understand that the premise of this book has been largely discussed as to whether this book is appropriate for kids, but personally, I think this book is a masterpiece written by the fabulously crafty author, Neil Gaimen.

Forgive my Fins - Tera Lynn Childs

I've always thought that the mermaid genre was my favorite, and yes, this books just confirmed my suspicion.

I devoured this book, it was light, cute, yet still contained that lingering element of romance, which I just adored.

First, lets talk characters: Lily is the main protagonist in this book, and is a mermaid living on land. Her mission is to bond with her crush, Brody, and claim her throne as princess of Thalassinia, ruling beside her beloved. She was such a likable character. She was't always whining, even in the worst of situations, which was definitely a breath of fresh air! I loved the way Tera incorporated these little 'fishy jokes' too, such as: He makes my heart beat flipper fast! I just thought these were super cute and added to the underwater atmosphere.

Quince is also a main character. I loved the way he was very sarcastic, yet could also be fairly emotive. He was just fuuny, yet towards the end you really start to develop strong feelings for him.

The setting of this book is beautiful and I think Tera did a fantastic job of describing the majestic unerwater kindom of Thlassinia. I really felt like I was din=ving along besides Lily!

This book deals with some common teen issues such as fitting in and first loves, yet it deals with it in such a light, fun and oh so charming way.

I do love this book and I recommend it for all ages. Though a little predictable, it was still a flipper fun read! 'Get my joke? No? Okay...'

Wow, that's a really tough question... hmm...

I would definitely write myself into Fins are Forever by Tera Lynn Childs. Why? You may ask? Well, I think I would like to take up the position of being queen of Thalassinia of course! :D

I think this because for starters it could really help Lily out, so she could be with Quince on land.

Also, I think it would be so cool being a mermaid and living in the gorgeous underwater palace.

This book is all about the relationship between a mother and a daughter. The two don't often talk to eachother in person much as they are both always on the run and are very busy. So, they keep in contact through short notes, posted on their refigerator door. This style of writing was so nice to read. It was light, short, yet the notes all held such deep meaning, and for an author to be able to bring tears to my eyes after a sentence of 3 words, well. She's incredible.

I won't go to much into physical aspects of the characters and such, since really, there isn't much desription of them. But this isn't a bad thing. It was nice to read about these two characters who don't have special qualities, or perfect hair or who are the 'IT' girls. These were just two normal characters, like you and me.

I cannot descibe how close I hold this book to my heart. It means so much to me reading about what Clare must deal with, and the stress that is put upon her shoulders. I can relate to her in the problem she went through, though I cannot empathize with her on such a big loss, I can relate to the problems before. But I'll leave that for you to discover.

Please read this, it'll only take you half an hour, but the meaning behind the book will stick with you long after.

Fever - Lauren Destefano Cover Revealed...

So, to be honest, it was always going to be hard to top the beauty of the cover Wither, but this?

I just can't get my head round it. The girl looks like she is on drugs, does she not?

I do love her dress though.

I'm am just honestly not convinced by this cover, and the colour scheme is so weird. Green with gold? Umm, okay...? I think it's nice, but only meh. I just feel very dissapointed. What do you guys think?

And I thought I knew my history.

I cannot even tell you how much you learn from this book, I mean really. I was fascinated by al lthat I learnt, and was intrigued to carry on in hope of uncovering the truth about france's bloody revolution.

This book is about two girl: Andi - living in 21st century new york, and Alexandrine - living in 18th century paris, battling through the bloody revolution.

Alexandrine - a highly likeable and very intriguing charecter - keeps a diary, which Andi happens to stumble upon. She then begins to uncover many secrets of the revolution, but also begins to uncover things about herself.

I thought Andi was a failry likeable character, though I though at times she was very, very irritating. Though towards the end, I gained a lot of respect for her as a character. She was very interested in music, and although this I didn't hate, It got a little tedious reading pages and pages of musical theory.

I adored Alexandrines character, she was so caring - never selfish - and courageous. Yet the main quality I adored in her was the fact that she always put the people she loved first. Alexandrine is actually Marie Antionettes son's Louis' entertainer. Though when things go wrong and he is thrown in the tower, she still makes an effort to keep him happy by setting off fireworks for him to watch from his towers window.

The end of this book was honestly outstanding, and had me lingering on about it days after I had turned the last page - it really moved me. I would never have considered giving this book a 5 star, had the ending not have been as magnificent as it was. I have no idea why the ending had such an effect on me. It just did.

A marvelous historical book depicting the true terror and what it took to survive through frances unforgettable revolution.

You guys HAVE to read this book! Many people are so put off by it's synopsis and cover, but believe me, give this book a go and you'll not regret it.

The story all focuses around this innocent, bullied boy Junior, who lives on a reservation. Junior has freckles wears glasses, was born with water on the brain, so obviously his appearance isn't...perfect.
He keeps a diary of his experience moving to all an all white school, from his school on the reservation, as he believes he must do something with his life. ( I mean no offence, I am referring to it as it did in the book.) Junior is an Indian and in this book Indians are seen as outsiders, so this story is all about how he tries to fit in and make more of his life.

You feel so many emotions for junior, from when he's getting picked on, to when he scores the sinning three pointer in basketball. The characters in this book were all so real, Sherman Aleie didn't shy away from some issues in todays society, no. She went full on and told you how it really was.

Junior is also a cartoonist, so throught the book there are lots of cute drawings which I couldn't help but laugh as. :D

A really great, heartwarming story which I think any age could enjoy.

Wow! Lauren Oliver just continues to blow me away!

Reading about this 'no love' society was so interesting, and Lauren made it sound oh so realistic!
Her description is so vivid that I literally thought that this society was real.

Lena was a very strong female protagonist which was so refreshing as she didn't constantly need to be saved. *Coughs Bella.* She was so decisive and strong and passionate about what she believed in and I just loved watching her develop both mentally and physically.

Alex, the guy of the novel, also had such strong qualities. He was just like Lena in many ways, but also very different in others and I loved to watch their interactios with each other. Alex was very mysterious in the sense that you didn't really understand his background at first. I just loved the fact that you felt like you were learning something about the characters throughout the novel, instead of it all being revealed at once.

The atmosphere in this book was just thrilling, scary and it felt like you were with them and there was nowhere to shy away.

This book is so good, I believe everyone will enjoy this. I found the middle bit a little slow, but honestly, I totally understand as Oliver had to and did succeed in making this world so realistic.

Hey everyone,
I've had so many issues uploading book hauls and videos to blogger, it's driving me insane.
For awhile, I have been thinking that I'd love to make a book based Youtube channel, including hauls, tags, reviews, tours and anything you guys would request. I would still blog loads too, so don't worry!
You see, I recently got a Nikon D3100 camera for my birthday which has HD video, so it's perfect for making videos.
So wha' do ya' think? Oh and if you like the idea, have any names for my channel? I like the name 'The Book Monnster' but I'd LOVE to hear your suggestions!

Crazy For Books: Blogger hop!

"If you were given the chance to spend one day in a fictional world (from a book), which book would it be from and what would that place be?"

Definitely the underwater world of Ingo. The reason I say this is because I love the sea so much

and just getting the chance to swim alongside mermaids would be the most magical thing.

Ingo is also beautiful and dangerous, so would offer so much adventure! Plus it would be awesome to swim with sharks and dolphins and stuff! I think it would just be a really relaxing, beautiful world.

1) I LOVE to make random videos, even if I'm not going to show them to anybody.

2) When I'm reading, sometimes I'll just stare at the pretty cover (if it has one) for five minutes.

3) I am inspired really easily. For example, I thought Anne Frank was a huge inspiration because of her diary and so I tried to write one, however it didn't last that long. *.*

4) I'm addicted to Facebook, Blogger, and Youtube. I must cut down on how much time I spend on the computer. I swear, I'm wasting my life away.

5) I love taking pictures, and making artsy videos. Actually, here is one of my artsy videos:

Need - Carrie Jones

Zara White suspects there's a freaky guy semi-stalking her. She's also obsessed with phobias. And it's true, she hasn't exactly been herself since her stepfather died. But exiling her to shivery Maine to live with her grandmother? That seems a bit extreme. The move is supposed to help her stay sane...but Zara's pretty sure her mom just can't deal with her right now.

She couldn't be more wrong. Turns out the semi-stalker is not a figment of Zara's overactive imagination. In fact, he's still following her, leaving behind an eerie trail of gold dust. There's something not right - not human - in this sleepy Maine town, and all signs point to Zara.

** This review isn't very specific since I read this book quite awhile ago. Sorry!**

I had really high expectations for this book, since it seemed to get many great reviews, and was about pixies! Unfortunately I was a little let down.

I found Zara quite a nice character. She was fun to read about, however I found her phobia thing a little strange, and how she always talked about her different phobias got a tad annoying after awhile. She very much reminded me of Bella too, Though she wasn't so dependant on always being rescued.

The two boys in this book were my favorite characters. They were funny, and both of them had strong personalities. They were also both fighting for Zara, which also reminded me of twilight due to the love triangle.

Carrie Jones did an amazing job of setting the scene, I could imagine Maine like I was watching a movie! Her descriptive writing was melodic and beautiful. Her description of the pixies also made them seem very mysterious, and pretty wicked, actually.

For me, this book was just way too simular to twilight. I know she probably didn't mean it to be that way, though. Zara even recieved a car upon arrival from her grandma, just like Bella did. There was a love triangle, which developed furthur, but I'm not going to say how because I don't want to spoil it. Though the pixie side was pretty awesome, this book could of been better, in my opinion. I still really want to carry on with the series though.

Beyond Black 'n' White

Hey Everyone! Gosh, I have been such a bad blogger recently! You all have the right to Boo me. ;)
Well, here is my excuse:
I was in England for a week and there was no freeking internet! *Gasps*
It was awful and meeeehh. But I did have a very fun time, so, ohwell.
Also I went to WHSmiths and got some books. Wahoo!

I'm currently reading Looking for Alaska, and I really like it! Please check out John Greens books they are awesome. Even though I only gave Paper Towns 3 stars it is really good. I LOVE JOHN GREEN'S BOOKS! <3

Also, my birthday is next Monday, so I shall have a book haul for you, and a book review on Need by Carrie Jones.

Demonglass - Rachel Hawkins

I'm so upset I didn't enjoy this one as much as I thought I would. I think the problem was I just hyped it up way to much, and I was left feeling quite dissapointed.

The reason I adored HEX HALL was because of the fast paced storyline, romance, and all of the magic! In Demonglass, for me, the pacing was really quite slow, though it did pick up towards the end. I just wanted more action in the middle, to keep the pace up.

The setting was still as beautifully described as ever, which is one thing I really love about Rachel Hawkins books. I could imagine in great detail Graymalkin island, and the huge mansion which Sophie was staying in.

Many old characters returned which was really nice. But I can't believe I'm saying this: I found Sophie a little bit annoying in this novel. :O I still liked her, however she became a little irritating at parts. She was so snappy with her Dad at the start. Yet her sarcasm was still very apparent, and she provided me with many more laughs. I'm not going to talk about any more characters, so not to spoil the plot.

Sophie also learned how to control her powers better, which was fun to see, and indeed there was more magic in this book.

I just feel there could have been more in this book, more romance too. The love triangle for me, wasn't really a love triangle, and could have been executed much better. I still cannot wait until the next book comes out, and this book still didn't hinder my love for this series.

Slice of Cherry - Dia Reeves

Kit and Fancy Cordelle are sisters of the best kind: best friends, best confidantes, and best accomplices. The daughters of the infamous Bonesaw Killer, Kit and Fancy are used to feeling like outsiders, and that’s just the way they like it. But in Portero, where the weird and wild run rampant, the Cordelle sisters are hardly the oddest or most dangerous creatures around.

It’s no surprise when Kit and Fancy start to give in to their deepest desire—the desire to kill. What starts as a fascination with slicing open and stitching up quickly spirals into a gratifying murder spree. Of course, the sisters aren’t killing just anyone, only the people who truly deserve it. But the girls have learned from the mistakes of their father, and know that a shred of evidence could get them caught. So when Fancy stumbles upon a mysterious and invisible doorway to another world, she opens a door to endless possibilities….

This was probably one of the weirdest books I have ever read. Weird isn't always a bad thing though, I actually really enjoyed this!

The majority of this book was about murdering people. I know that seems very alarming, and for some people, they'll make sure to never read this book, but don't let this put you off. Dia Reeves is very clever in the way she handles these sorts of things, and sure, it is still rather gruesome, but not heavy. Am I making sense? If you look beyond the murdering, hidden to me, I thought, was a story of self discovery.

Kit and Fancy were very likeable characters, and I loved to see how the sisters close relationship developed throughout the book. They were also very quirky characters, much like the writing, but this just made it even more of an interesting book to read about. I found it funny how the girls were so nonchalant about killing people, like it really wan't that big of a deal. Their 'love' interests were also very likeable, with lots of depth and qualities to them.

This book was full of vivid detail, which added so much more atmosphere to the setting. Characters were also described in lots of detail, so you felt as if you knew them as a person, from the way they dressed, to the activities they liked, even what the personalities were.

Dia Reeves has a wild imagintion, and I loved to explore it. Although this is a book which I most definitely
can say not everyone will enjoy, those who do will be pleasantly suprised with this whirlwind of a book.

What a great realistic fiction novel. Truly, it was brilliant!

First of all, please don't let the blurb put you off. It sounds really weird and confusing.

John Green has such a captivating and I don't know, READABLE writing style. It's really hard to describe, but his writing is crisp and exciting. He has a way of producing perhaps the nost realistic characters I have read about. Margo deals with a whole lot of crap, and she rebels. Q's friends are nerds but hey, that's life. You find all of these things in the world.

The story line was entwined around morals and I loved this. Although this novel appeared black and white, it is so much more than that. It is about hope and forgiveness, and self discovery. It's just so real.

The description in this book was wonderful. At times I did wish the pace would pick up, however now having fully read it, I can completley understand why it didn't.

I cannot wait to check out more of John Greens books, any suggestions?

I have all of a sudden become fascinated with Anne Frank and her diary. Her intelligence and look of life are all so interesting to me. She has inspired me to write a diary. I have written numerous ones in the past, however all have failed. This time will be different though, I am so keen on scribbling all of my thoughts down - just like she did. To me, she is such an inspiration, and I think everyone should read her book, or shall I say her Diary.

It's nearly Summer, and I actually cannot WAIT!
Last summer was so fun and new, since it was the time when I first moved to Portugal. My experience very much reminded me of Anna in Anna and the french kiss where I had to point to everything I wanted and just hope they understood. Not to mention the fact that I omnly understood two words. Obrigada, and Por favor. :D

Yet nearly a year has passed, and no I'm not fluent yet but hey, I have expanded my vocab from two words!

Anyway, I didn't have much to post about today, so I thought I would share a couple of videos, to give you a picture of what I did in the summer. (The weather was beautiful!)

Ash - Malinda Lo

I was dying to read this book after it was pronounced a 'retelling of Cinderella.' There is absolutely no doubt that Malinda has an exquisite writing style, however I do wish some aspects had been a little different.

Lets talk characters first. This was the main aspect I wanted to change. The characters were just so boring and didn't really stand out at all. Infact having just finished it, I have to admit that I can remember very few. Ash was a strong protagonist, however I just wish there had been more depth to her, and also more detail. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I barley no what she looks like due to lack of description.

I totally got the whole magical feel of this book, however I just wish there was more, well, actual magic, one that I could witniss, why did it have to be so secretive all of the time?

The setting that Malinda created I thought, was stunning. The whole forest was beautifully descriptive. (Why couldn't this have been the same case for the characters?) I loved all of her descriptions of Ash's surroundings, and I really felt like I too, was in the forest.

The ending did take my by surprise. I mean, I have nothing against it, but I really didn't feel much tension, it kind of just happened. I wish there could again, have been a little more depth.

Overall, this was a beautifully written novel, however I thought that there was so much more potential, and it didn't keep my attention for very long.

WHAT. A. BOOK. And I thought that Chick Lit was so not my thing.
This book is so perfect in every conceivable way. First of all, let's talk characters:

Stephanie Perkins managed to creat witty, funny and oh so charming charecters. Namely, St. Clair... sorry, just got lost in day dreaming there... Liddy, pull yourself together, he's just a fictional character. Étienne St. Claire is such a great character. He was sensitive, and so caring. I really can't describe his greatness. You just need to go and find out.

Anna was perfect for him, she was witty funny, and again so kind. And you could tell that she realy cared about him, as he did for her. She was also so loyal, apart from one time... those that have read it will know what I'm talking about...

My favorite aspect of this book was the setting! Paris sounded wonderful, and I just wanted to jump right in to the book and join them at the pâtisserie!
You have no idea how hard it is to describe this book. Please, just go and pick it up. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite books of ALL TIME.

This is a really great series for ages around 9-12, but perhaps any older and you won't appreciate these books so much. That is why I shall try and review this book in a MG's eyes.

This novel is such a great way to enhance your knowledge of the Greeks. No, really, I now know quite alot about the different gods!

Characters in this book are fun, I especially love Annabeth, as she is smart, wise, and an awesome sword fighter! Percy is also a nice character, yet I found he sometimes made some really stupid decisions like, hey these a monster that could kill me out there, should I wait for Thalia, g
Grover and all of the others? Nah, I'm the son of Poseidon, I can do anything! I found that a very annoying trait in Percy.

I adore the setting in this book, namely Camp Half-Blood! I love the whole fighting, and training lessons, and the chariot races! It all just seems so awesome! If theres one thing Rick can do well, it's create a vivid image in your head!

The only other issue I had with these book was that it was very repetitive. There were monsters after monsters, and the characters always seemed to get away unharmed.

I'm really looking forward to the other books in this series. This is a fun and highly enjoyable series to read.

I really, really enjoyed this book. I have never read a book about witches before, so perhaps that added to my immense enjoyment. However guess what?! Not only were there witches, but warlocks, faeries, demons, vampires, shape shifters... I'm getting tired naming all these epic creatures!

Sophie was such a cool character! She was really witty and super funny, and even when situations got tough, she always blurted something out which just made me laugh out loud! I loved seeing her little crush on Archer develop too.

Admittedly this plot was a tad predictable at times apart from the ending, but you know what that doesn't even matter with all the other awesomeness within this book.
I especially enjoyed watching all the spells cast within this book and just all the magic involved, it's a shame there wasn't more really, cause that was one of my favorite bits. :D

Now, onto the ending. What a shocker ending! By the time I had finished the book, I just looked at it like 'Wait, what... but she.. I thought..' I love love LOVE endings like these, ones that spring up and surprise you!

Overall this book was a brilliant quick read, and I am so excited to pick up the next book in this series Demonglass.

In this meme I will discuss two of the same covers one from the Uk, and the Us. I will then decide which one I like best!
I think for this meme, I may do it once of twice a month, or maybe, just whenever I fell like it!
P.S I know I already have another weekly meme called 'Cover Crazy' but who dosn't like book covers, eh?!

I have always preferred the US copy of Hex Hall. It really shows you what this whole stories about - A normak teenage girl who is a witch. Also isn't it traditional that witches have black cats? Where's the cat on the UK cover!!? If there was one thing I didb;t like about the US cover it would be that I don't like the way she is standing where she not a witch, she dosn't look fierce and powerful where as the other girls do.

For some reason I'm not crazy about either of these covers. On the US cover the girl looks really creepy, but then the UK cover looks like the inside of a wasps nest! I think I prefer the title font they have used on the Uk cover, it's clean and easy to read. Gahh, I don't know which one to pick! Well, beacause I find that girl on the US one really weird, I'm going to go with the UK cover on this one.

Why does the UK destroy perfectly perfect covers? I really like the US cover of incarceron and I bet in person it's even prettier! It incorporates that clockwork element that I believe the story to have, and it looks mysterious and dark, and secretive.I like the design of the key too. Then theres the UK cover. It's just so boring! There looks to be nothing special about the key, just because it has a twinkle dosn't make it special! Also I don't really like all of the red. A clear winner.

What a roller coaster ride. If you haven't picked this book up yet, go now - I'll wait. Seriously.
It wasn't just the exquisite writing style, but the intricately weaved plot, that left you longing for more.

Characters were amazing in this book, and I found that I didn't just like one character, but many, many others.
Calla was an awesome protagonist and I don't just say that because she is probably the coolest wolf around. She showed so many strong qualities from love to virtue, and she really was an a admirable charecter.

Then there was Ren and Shay. Oh Ren, where to start!? *Pathetically swoons* Ren was bold and brave, but Calla melted his sometimes icy heart. I LOVE this when males try to be strong in books but then they have a soft spot for their love interest... you know? Shay was also a pretty well rounded character, however for some reason I did find him slightly annoying at times with all of his sarcasm.

The plot in this book was the real show-stopper. There was action, a love triangle, more action, more love.
I loved everything about this book, and this review is really hard to write while expressing my true feelings, so I'll end it here.

The reason I picked this book up was because I LOVED Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver.
I'm still not quite sure why, but I just adore books about death. Ones that really touch you.

For me If I Stay was a good book, however it just didn't have the emotional intensity I was expecting. This book had gotten so many good reviews and some of my expectations were not fulfilled, which left me feeling quite disappointed.

Mia was a strong protagonist. One great thing about this book was the realistic qualities characters possessed. It felt like I was on a journey beside Mia. Sometimes I felt joy and other times sadness.
I adored Adam, Mia's boyfriend. He was also a very strong character, and you could tell Mia meant the world to him, and I loved seeing their relationship grow and develop.

This book did have some shining moments, like the ending. It was powerful, and meaningful, however these aspects weren't so consistent throughout the book.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed this novel, however I wasn't as hooked to this book as I thought I was going to be, and for me, some parts really bored me. However I cannot wait to read the sequel Where She Went.

When the assailants make their intentions known, things take a shockingly terrible turn and an intense battle for survival will begin.

What a thrilling, chilling horror novel! Though small in size, this novel really does hit hard!

The Strangers Outside is all about two girls - sisters, on holiday. However shortly there, they discover that hooded figures are watching them. Morgan described them in such a way which sent shivers down my spine! This book was seriously creepy!

I especially loved the way she created the two sisters. Both were complete opposites, yet very alike. I would have liked a little more development with the characters, however I understand that this is only meant to be a short story.

The setting was perfect too. It was completely realistic which I loved, as it bought that sense of danger in the real world which added to the creepy-ness, and felt like the strangers could be watching anyone - even YOU. *Points finger dramatically*

The ending was really shocking, and quite gory, and I shuddered while reading it! However I thought that Louise could have shown a little more emotion...

This was a really awesome short read, and I suggest fans of horror should really read this one. Many reviews have described Vanessa Morgan as a female Stephan King, and though not having read any of his works, by the sounds of things I couldn't agree more!

3.5/5 -- This was a seriously cool book so don't let this rating put you off. I only gave this book that rating as it was very short and lacked the details a normal long book needs, however all in all. GREAT!

But wait, that's not all...

Vanessa kindly bought to my attention this creepy movie adaption of the book. It is so cool, you HAVE to watch it!

Twelve baboon statues are scattered through the ages, and Maggie, Ben and Zoltan have to find them all. In the process of doing so, they witness some of the most catastrophic events in history, from the Great Fire of London to the destruction of Atlantis, and encounter everyone from Marie Antoinette at the height of the French Revolution to Montezuma at the moment of the bloody Spanish conquest of the Aztecs. In the course of their civilization-hopping adventures, they find their own lives in mortal danger.

The Baboons of Dawn was an excellent book, I mean it truly was. It had so many different elements to it which all wound together perfectly.

First of all, I'm going to start with the history aspect of this book since that is mainly what this novel revolves around. Within this book the children visited various time periods and events in history such as the 'Great fire of London' and 'The French Revolution.' Since there were so many places they visited, I wasn't sure that they would be very accurate, but now having read it I've been proven completley wrong. Cleveland really researched well, and not only that, he set the scene brilliantly so you could really visualize their surroundings.

Next - the characters. I thought Maggie was a strong female protagonist, and took control of the other boys as well as the situation when needed. I really appreciated this quality in her. Ben was a funny sarcastic boy, who pulled many jokes along the way and in general and just lightened the mood in this book, and for me, I find it's really nice to have a character like that. Zoltan was the clever one, and was also the leader since he knew so much about history. All of these characters were enjoyable to read about and I thought that the mix in personalities worked well.

My only issues I had with the book, was the fact that sometimes the baboons seemed a little to easy to get. Sometimes they were hard, but not always. Sometimes the way they appeared was a tad ironic. I felt that the ending wasn't as great as it could have been, although perhaps it is because of the sequel? Anyway, I found it again to be a little too easy. The Empress, a.k.a the bad guy, kept making the same mistakes! Resulting in the escape of the children again.

Apart from those little issues, this book was excellent, it was fast paced, action packed, funny and filled to the brim with history! History lovers, please check this one out, you will not be disappointed!

What is your favorite romance hero-type? Stereotype wise. Do you like the strong silent type or the brute macho man?

Uhmmm.. Well I gotta' say, I think I prefer the muscly mysterious type. I don't really know why. Probably because it's conforting to know that whenever the protagonist *i.e Bella* is in need of continous help, there will always be a strong guy at your rescue. Ok, that made no sense, but do you get what I mean?

Well, straight off the back, ENGLISH!

It always has been and I'm pretty sure it always will be.

I find it easiest to express myself through my writing, so for me english is a great way to portray my emotions, and also it's just fun to create a whole new world that nobody understands but you.

Crime, I LOVE.

So, I haven't been very creative with my posts lately, so I thought today I would post something a little different...

I was wondering if you like crime novels, I do!

One of my favorite crime authors is, I know I know, obvious but anyway:

Agatha Cristie

See I get so caught up in Y.A that I forget about the classic, thrilling novels like Agatha Cristie writes.

One of my favorite novels by her is 'Death On The Nile.'

She has such a talent where she leads the reader into thinking that they have cracked the case and then she turns it all around, and I LOVE that! It's not just crime though, it's more than that, it's also a thriller

As well as this, I adore the old-fashioned dialouge, there's something comforting about listening to the characters excessive use of the word 'Darling.'

So this was a kinda' random post, but hey.

Well, what to say about this book, other than it is truly magical.

This book was so well written and had such cleverly written characters.

Viola was totally was someone I could totally relate too. She many issues to deal with, such as her ex-boyfriends sexuality and for that I found her to be a very admirable character. She always stood her ground, and was constantly on a mission for self completion, to become whole. Jackson Pearce dealt with some tricky teenage aspects in life, like self-esteem. This book really gave a strong message to the reader, to always believe in yourself, and never let other peoples thoughts get you down.

Jinn was also an exquisite character, and as I continued on in the book, I found that it wasn't only Viola who was looking for self discovery and belonging, but also Jinn.

The magical elements were all there, mixed in with serious undertones, which I loved.
I loved seeing Jinn and Violas relationship grow, and watching the struggles they had to overcome. You really felt like you were apart of the journey.

But wow. The ending. I thought that the ending was very powerful, and just perfect. This is by far one of my favorite love stories.

Okay, so I know I have done these posts quite alot... but I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 50 FOLLOWERS! :O
I actually cannot believe it!

Ok so this post is going to be really, really tinnee-tiny.

However I just wanted to hear your thoughts about my idea. Around christmas I made a Book haul video of what I got, and I found that to be really good fun!

So, I was wondering, would you like me to make book haul videos every now and again? It wont be an in my mailbox yet, until I have a steady flow of books which will be quite a while! However I would just make some book haul videos and show you what I got. Since I have just recieved 8 books from amazon, I thought I could do a haul, but I just wanted your opinion.

It's all about the hype.

So I haven't posted a post in awhile. :/ Sorry, things have been really busy, with all the exams etc. etc. etc.
Anyway since I haven't got much news, I thought about doing a discussion post. Although I'm not sure how succesful it will be, I thought it seemed like fun!

Today I will me discussing THE HYPE.

Does hype put you off?

For me, I think at time, yes, it definetley does. I admit I haven't read some of the more hyped about books such as 'Beautiful Creatures' 'Hush Hush' or even 'Fallen!' Why? you may ask. Well, it's all about The Hype.

Personally, I think hype is a good thing. However, it does get a little annoying when all you hear of is certain books. Which leads me onto my next discussion point: underhype.

There are many amazing books out there, and unfortunatley some don't get the credit they deserve. I think this is quite sad, just because they perhaps don't have vampires of werewolfs in.

What I want to really know, is what is your opinion on hype? Tell me in the comments down below. Also, would you like me to do more of these posts? What to suggest a topic? If so, tell me down below.

Passion Cover Revealed! :O

Ok, I'm coming clean. I still need to read FALLEN and TORMENT. I have got them on my shelves though!

I will definitely read them both before PASSIONS expected publication date, ehich I believe to be the middle of june.

So, cover discussion time! I LOVED the cover of FALLEN I thought it was beautiful, dark, eerie... I could go on and on.

The cover for TORMENT was even more beautiful! It was so dramatic and it portrayed aggression. Yeah, you know all about it I'm sure, everyone loved it.

I think the cover for PASSION is still amazingly beautiful, but I'm just not getting that same affect...

The red rose is awesome as it stands out really well but there is just something too fake about the model.

When I see it in person I will probably die for it, perhaps it is just because the screen really dosn't give it justice.

Don't get me wrong it is beautiful, just, I guess beating TORMENT was always going to be near impossibe.

But, I thought it was really neat that she was releasing a new book, and the synopsis looks great!

The Thirteenth Chime - Emma Michaels

Destiny has finally found the life that she has always wanted. She is about to finish college, has a fiance that loves her, and a great summer on the West Coast planned with her friend, Stephanie. But her world is turned upside down when an antique clock mysteriously chimes thirteen times and someone attacks them, sending Stephanie and her mother to the hospital.

Alone, and without any help from the police, Destiny has no choice but to turn to the one man she had left behind a year ago - her ex-boyfriend, David. Together, they must solve the riddle of the thirteenth chime before the clock strikes thirteen again. Yet as they face their own past and hearts, a trap over half a century old is waiting for them to become its prey.

For revenge, fifty years is never too long...

I was drawn to this book due to the fact that the author, Emma Michaels, is a fellow blogger. I mean, how cool is that! It resumes all hope in me that perhaps one day, I too, could be a Y.A author. Anyway, enough of that dramatic story, onto the book!

'The Thirteenth Chime' was very refreshing and highly a enjoyable novel. I found it really interesting that the main focus of this book, was an object. Usually, the character is the main focus, so this made it nice and different which I really appreciated.

The setting was really clear and I could visualize the characters surroundings really well, which added to the creepy atmosphere.

Now, I'm not going to lie, up until about the first 30 pages, I found it to be quite slow. But heck, after that it got awesome! The whole idea about the cursed clock was actually pretty creepy and I found in the beginning, when you were introduced to the thirteenth chime concept, you couldn't help but dread it's next appearance, which of course, inevitably happened.

I loved David's witty, sarcastic, remarks. He was a lovable, caring character. However I found Destiny a little on the annoying side at times. She wouldn't stop slapping David on the arm either! (If you have read this book you'll know what I mean.) I felt that there was still room for a little more character development, however. I couldn't really relate to many of them. Nevertheless, there were some really great ones!

The ending though, phew. That was one kick-ass dramatic ending! Which I thought was executed perfectly!

I think Emma has done a FANTASTIC job for a first novel, and I hope that her sequel will have the same effect on me as 'The Thirteenth Chime' did.

♥ The font they have used for the title fits the actual title really nicely, and makes me think it is going to be a cute, sweet novel.

♥ I really like the fact the colours arn't to 'in your face' they are nice and suttle.

♥ The pictures they have used are so pretty. Lets start off with the lips. They are shiny and the colour matches the title colour too! Look at the other picture aswell! It's a really pretty pastel blue. And I really like the bridge, looks like new york!

Coraline - Neil Gaiman

Okay, so I was looking on my bookshelf and decided it was time to review a MG novel, so here is Neil Gaiman's 'Coraline'

When Coraline explores her new home, she steps through a door and into another house just like her own... except that it's different. It's a marvelous adventure until Coraline discovers that there's also another mother and another father in the house. They want Coraline to stay with them and be their little girl. They want to keep fer for ever!

Coraline must use all of her wits and every ounce of courage in order to save herself and return home.

I must confess, I read Coraline after the film, which by the way, I loved.

Coraline is an action packed fast paced thriller-ish kind of book. I love the whole concept about Coraline having 'other' parents. The thing I liked about this book is that everything seems perfect as the beginning, however towards the end, everything is pulling apart at the seams and you realize just how much of a sticky situation Coraline has gotten herself into.

Coraline's reality life, is in a kids eyes, is boring. Her parents are always working and they pay no attention to poor old Coraline. So one day when being shooed off by her father - who told her to explore the house - she discovers a door leading to a parallel life. Neil Gaiman leads you to believe that this other world is perfect, yet all is not what it seems. Coraline's other mother want to keep her, forever!

This book is so creepy! It is quite dark too. I felt scared for Coraline when she was told she would have to sew buttons in her eyes in order to stay in the perfect world! The mother is dark, scary and very crafty, which makes Coraline's escape a whole lot harder.

I was a little disappointed with the lack of detail in this book. I mean, some sentences were just so short! However, I guess this is supposed to be a MG novel.

The illustrations in this book were so original, and I thought they were fantastic, and really gave the novel a scary atmosphere. Some spooked me out too, like the one of the other mother below!

I highly recommend this one, especially if you love the scary types of books, those who don't, perhaps while find it a little too frightening.

Covers: I was just wondering which one you preferred. I personally love the movie cover as it is really nice and bright! Yet the original incorporates the element of darkness in this novel and looks a lot more creepy!

Ok, well being a new Y.A reader, I haven't yet come across a book which had changed my life. However, there was one book that did quite touch me. Don't laugh. It was 'Private Peaceful' by Michael Morpurgo. Ok, I know that it's a younger book, however I think the ending was so emotional and really gave you a feel for what life in world war II was like. Any book which makes you cry, has to be given some cred' don't ya' think?

Phew... It's, been a while. However, I am glad to say that things are up and going as usual again!

It is a weekley meme where you get to rant about the books that are soon to be published; what could be better!?

This week the book I'm waiting on is...

I think that this one sounds very interesting. I loved Lauren Olivers 'Before I fall' I thought it was beautifully written, so I do have high hopes for this one so *fingers crossed!*
I'm not yet sure as to whether I like the cover... the blues pretty.

Sara Shepard is great, I mean really freekin' awesome! I adored Pretty Little Liars, and going into this book I had to remind myself that this was a totally different series.

However,

I couldn't help but have constant reminders of just how similar the book really is. First of all there's a murder. Except who did it? Well, that's the mystery, hmm... does this sound vaguely familiar to you? A creepy boy who seems very reserved, almost as if he is hiding something... Wow. That's like Pretty Little Liars too.

Quick Summary: Emma finds out that she has a long lost twin sister, Sutton, and decides to meet up with her. However upon arrival it is clear that things are not quite right. Later Emma discovers that Sutton is dead, and that she has to pretend she is Sutton or she is next. Basically it's the whole if you tell: You're dead.

So, apart from the similar plot line, this book was fantastic! It held mystery, suspense, and I did rather enjoy Emma's character. It was actually really interesting as the narrative would suddenly swap from Emma to Sutton in heaven, who would add little comments here and there. I liked this as it was cool to see how she was feeling, and how she reacted to Emma's actions.

The thing I love most about this book is, You. Are. Never. Right. You see, just when you think you've got the whole murder thing sort out, everything is turned upside down, so you are never certain. This is an aspect I really admire in Shepard's novels.
Shepard's writing style is so pleasing to read! She creates this eerie setting, with really well developed characters alongside. She really is a great Y.A author.

Great read, I highly recommend you go out and pick up your copy now! Cannot wait for the sequel: Never Have I Ever.

2011: A Year of New Beginnings.

First of all, I like pancakes, jokes, well I do... Okay, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I know everyone has already posted this, but, I think it's important to share with everyone your new years resolutions and achievements. (Theres nothing like feelin' good about youself eh? ;)

2010 has been a very eventful year for me. I have had to say goodbye to many people that I love, I have met new people, but most of all, this year, my love for Y.A ignited.

It was earlier on in the year that this whole wonderland began, and I can safetly say, I'm not going to be returning through the wardrobe anytime soon!

Anyway, first of all I am going to talk about my achievements.

I started officially posting on this blog in late september however it was only really in middle-ish october that I really began making 'Lovely Lil' Book Worm' work. I am loving every minute of it, and I never want this to stop. I mean, when I get a new follower I literally get up and start dancing! I think it's amazing to think that people actually listen to you and take notice of the things you say, however crazy they might be! This is what I want to do. I've never really felt a strong passion towards anything else other than reading and writing.

I actually moved away from England :'( in july to move to Portugal. This was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I had met many friends and made some close relationships. Ones which I hope will span till a very long time. For me, the hardest part of it all was loosing my best friend. I'm not just talking about a friend who gives you clothes advice or, has sleepovers with you and giggles about the shirtless model at Abercrombie. She was like a soulmate. Portugal so far has been awesome. I'm at a lovely school, the beaches are nice and lifes pretty fine, so I guess I have to remember that every cloud has a silver lining.

Now, onto 2011's resolutions!

I decided to compose a list for this to keep it structured and to the point.

1. Read WAY more. I need to stop wasting my life away on this computer screen.

2. Complete the 50 book challenge. (Which will be awesome!)

3. I am going to try and recieve 100 followers by the end of the year, but, to do this I must read more and post more!

4. Be more helpful to my mum. (Again, I need to stop wasting time and help more around the house etc.)

5. Stop worrying about imperfections. I have this nasty habbit of trying to make everything perfect, when really, I need to tell myself, nothings perfect.

And Finally...

THANK YOU! Thank you to my 25 followers and all of my commenters. You all mean the world. Your support I promise, does not go unrecognised. You all make my day that little bit brighter. For that, I wish you all a safe and happy 2011.

Now, who's excited for all the fab book that are instore?! I think we are going to be in for a real treat.

Top 10 Best Covers of 2010.

Ok so as, I haven't been around for a while and since 2010 is nearly at it's end, I thought I would share with you my top 10 favorite covers. In no particular order...

Of course. I had to feature Forgive My Fins. I just love the colours on this cover, they all match together so well, and remind you of the sea which I guess for this novel, is a good thing! I also love her lips and eyes beacuse they have been smoothered in this turquoise colour and I think it makes her look like beautiful a mermaid. And her hair is also gorgeous. Everything on this cover is perfection. LOVE.

I actually choose this cover for my weekly 'Cover Crazy' meme, and well, I think it's pretty self explanatory why. She just looks so elegant and effortless. Her dress and hair are floating in the water, which for me, adds to the overall effect. I love the way they have done the water too. The light shining down makes it look like shes reaching for something out of her grasp. Powerful.

Ahh, I love this cover, it's just so... cute!

I think the whole idea of her different reflection in the water matches the premise of the book. I love the way they have made her look like a typical schoolgirl in real life but then a witch on her reflection. I just think it's been cleverly thought out. The colours are pretty bright too!

I'm fairly sure you will find this cover on nearly everyones top 10 covers. It is simply gorgeous. All the decor around the edge gives it that edgy icy feel to this book, aswell as the pale girl on the front. It all just looks like a winter wonderland if you see what I mean. I just love the whole colour scheme, everything on this cover just lures you into this magical adventure.

Again, this one is pretty much a given. Everyone was absolutely raving about this cover, and well, look.

I think the fact that they have prodcued an eerie dark cover andds to the whole mystery. It almost looks like she is in despair? Everything about this cover ticks every single box.

*Giggles* Isn't this cover like, the cutest thing you have ever seen? I adore the way they have incorporated the title into the street signs. I don't quite know how to describe what it is with this cover. It just looks like a cute romance, you know, kissing under the think blanket of white snow, with the snowflakes falling on your eyelashes? I know that sounded really lame, but It's just what I visulise.

This cover very much reminded me of Dash and Lilys book of Dares or is it just me? I love the whole snowy scene on this cover and the fact that it's looking between two trees. I'm not sure what the girl is doing, I belive she is running? Anyway, I just love all of the colours on this cover and the border around the title. For me, this ones a favorite.

I actually fell in love with this cover when I first saw it, and the reason being is probably the whole normality of it all. It's refreshing. I really makes you feel in a cheery summery mood. I love the blue sky, the crashing waves, the footprints in the sand, everything. The theme of orange, also goes really well and keeps the cover bright. She also looks so graceful with her wrap arpund trailing in the wind.

The simplicity of this cover is what really catches my eye, aswell as the striking lime green colour against the faded grey backdrop. I think it's the vivid colour green what does it for me. Also I think the cover matches the story. She looks like shes trying to burst out of a bubble, like trying to burst out of societies rules and regulations in life. I adore this cover.

And last, but by no means least, Nightsahdes cover. Nightsahdes cover. Everyone knows about this one I know, but I couldn't help but put it on my list. :D I think the main reason I love it so, is beacause of all of the purple used as purple is one of my favorite colours! I love everything, on this cover. The flowers are so pretty, and I adore her wispy puple hair, (where can I get some!?) Her piercing eyes look great too. I'm not sure if you can see, but on the 't' they have added some blood trickling down, which I think is pretty neat. This cover really takes your breathe away and I think that they did a FANTASTIC job producing it! Also, I hear it has 'ruffley pages!!

Hey, so first of all MERRY CHRSTMAS!!!!
Secondly, I apologise for the lack of blog posts. The holidays have been really busy!
I will be Back up and revving to go in 2011 though, with piles of new reviews, hauls, and of course the latest Y.A news.

I have decided that I may add a new videos tab to store all sorts of videos such as book hauls and certain book reviews, but I dont know... we'll see...
I think I'm going to do a video of my christmas book haul though because guess what?! I got all of the books I asked for, which I was no way expecting!! And not only that I actually got an extra one from my grandma so in total I have nine awesome books wwhich I cannot wait to get reading and reviewing!#

And, lastly, I know I haven't posted this weeks 'Cover Crazy' but I think with all the craziness of my own to handle, I'm going to give this week a miss. Sorry.

So after that rather O.T.T message, I'm going to fly.

This week the book I'm waiting on is...

For as highest calling a mermaid can have. Then Dosinia runs away to the mainland, and Esmerine is sent to retrieve her. There she comes upon a friend she hasn't seen since childhood--a dashing young man named Alandare, who belongs to a winged race of people. This book is about Mermaids, and I think mermiads may soon become one of my favorite fictional charecters...Hmm.
I love any books with mermaids in and this one has romance too!
It kind of sounds like 'The Little Mermaid' don't you think?!
Anyway, it looks awesome and I can't wait till' this one comes out.

Mercy - Rebecca Lim

There's something very wrong with me. I can't remember who I am or how old I am, or even how I got here. All I know is that when I wake up, I could be any one. It is always this way. There's nothing I can keep with me that will stay. It's made me adaptable. I must always re-establish ties. I must tread carefully or give myself away. I must survive.

Ok, so for me this book was just... meh.
I didn't adore it, having said that, the concept was pretty original.

This book kept me hooked, but only because the plot involved a kidnap, and I wanted to see who was really behind it all.

First of all I am going to start with the characters. My main problem I had with this book was the fact that Rebecca didn't really delve into the characters, instead they were just left hazy and unrelatable. When I read a book, I need good characters or soon, I loose interest. Which unfortunately was what happened in this book. However towards the end, the characters did grow a little back bone, which I most definitely appreciated!

Next, the plot. Mercy is a girl or rather an angel as such, who is sent to earth to help solve individuals problems. Because of this, Mercy is constantly stealing different peoples bodies, the only problem is, she never stays in a certain body. In this particular story, she was sent to help solve a kidnap... that's all I'm going to say.

At the beginning this book was very confusing. I didn't really understand all of the stuff about this mysterious guy in her dreams, Luc, and even towards the end I didn't get much closure either. I did however, think it was very different making most of the characters in this book choir singers. It did sometimes get a little boring reading through all of the scenes where they were rehearsing though.

The setting in this book wasn't very descriptive, rather just enough for you to get a feel of what the surroundings are like.

The thing I loved about this book was the last maybe, 80 pages. Pheww, the ending was fricken' intense! This was when the book finally picked up! Wow. It was scary and definitely a shock. When I found out who the abductor was I literally stared in disbelief!

I wish this book had a little more Romance in it! Mercy did lay eyes on Ryan who is supposedly 18, but it was a little weird how a 13 year old could become fixated on someone so much older.

The Lady in the Tower - Marie-Louise Jensen

'The Lady in the Tower' was actually the first Y.A historical fiction book I ever read. First impressions? Amazing.

First of all don't let the blurb put you off to much. To me, the blurb was boring which was probably why I didn't read this one for a while. This book was all about Lady Elizabeth Hungerford's imprisonment in Farleigh castle, as well as her daughter Eleanor's efforts to try and rescue her.

I loved reading about the characters in this book as they were all from the 1600's, as well at the fact that it is set in the Tudor era, which is one of my favorite bits of history to learn about. It was so interesting exploring how Lady's were supposed to act, old traditions etc.

Jensen also produced a realistic setting which made me feel like I had jumped right back in time and was standing alongside Henry V111, and Eleanor.

I have to say though, my absolute favorite aspect of the story was the romance part. In those times you were made to marry proper gentlemen, however I loved Eleanor's strong will and bravery. She portrayed tremendous courage and never gave in to the harsh ways of society.

This novel was action packed, fast paced, scary and romantic. I don't think my review has given this book any justice. Just, really, go and pick it up. I know you won't be disappointed.

City of Fallen Angles Cover Revealed!

Ok, I have not read any of the series yet, however I do own them all. I believe the publication (approx) date is on April 5th 2011.

Since it is coming out fairly soon, I have decided to bump up the three book on my TBR pile. Ahh, I CANNOT wait!

Numbers - Rachel Ward

Since her mother's death, fifteen-year-old Jem has kept a secret. When her eyes meet someone else's, a number pops into her head - the date on which they will die. Knowing that nothing lasts forever, Jem avoids relationships, but when she meets a boy called Spider, and they plan a day out together, her life takes a new twist and turn. Waiting for the London Eye, she sees everyone in the queue has the same number - something terrible is going to happen.

This book was a really great action packed, thriller.
The plot was so different to anything I have read. The concept of this book was what really pulled me towards reading this one. I thought that the idea about Jem being able to see peoples numbers (the date that they would die) was just scary!

In this book, there are really only two main characters, Jem and Spider. I'm not going to lie, when I started reading this book I hated them both with a passion! The reason for this was simply because they were just rough, dirty and very rude. However, as the book went along, I began to really appreciate this.
Rachel Ward has produced modern characteristics, something you don't read about so often, especially in the Y.A genre. As well as this, the fact that Jem found out that Spider had little time left, just added to the whirlwind of suspense.

The setting on this book again, was real, and made you feel like you were standing alongside the characters.
I loved the fact that this book was set in London too, since I have been there so could really visualize everything. From the packed grimy streets to the sparkling London Eye - everything.

I loved watching the characters both develop, both emotionally and physically. The romance aspect of this book was real and honest.

The ending in this book really took a punch. After everything you had been through with the characters and the realization Jem discovered, that maybe she could change numbers, the ending for me was a complete surprise.
This book isn't necessarily one that affects you, more one that lingers on your mind for a while.

Ok, so I thought I would write a little post about this book for a particular reason.
Today my english teachers husband came in today to give us a little workshop on how to become a good writer.
Beyond the point, look he's written a book!

Three curious youngsters, an unsolved disappearance dating back to 1976, and a strange stone monkey engraved with Egyptian hieroglyphs-the ingredients for a bizarre and scary journey through history on a quest to get back to the present. Twelve baboon statues are scattered through the ages, and Maggie, Ben and Zoltan have to find them all. In the process of doing so, they witness some of the most catastrophic events in history, from the Great Fire of London to the destruction of Atlantis, and encounter everyone from Marie Antoinette at the height of the French Revolution to Montezuma at the moment of the bloody Spanish conquest of the Aztecs. In the course of their civilization-hopping adventures, they find their own lives in mortal danger.

Will they escape from the Well of Death and make it back to their own time? Will they solve the mystery of the missing Colonel Moon? And will Mum and Dad-who think the youngsters have only popped out to play-ever get a whiff of the amazing journey through time that they embarked on that eventful evening when they decided to dig up the Colonel's overgrown garden in an effort to find his body?

Sounds like if you like history mixed with fiction, than this one is for you!
I just thought that this was a book you should REALLY check out! He is such a cool guy, and SO funny!

This is a game of control or be controlled. And Vi has no choice but to play.

This sounds like a amazing Y.A dystopian novel, it also sounds very unique too!

Wow, I'm going to have to get my hands on this, no matter what!

Another Four Pretty Little Liars?!

Hey Everybody, I just wanted to share with you what I found out today.
Sara Shepard is planning on releasing ANOTHER four books in her hit series: PRETTY LITTLE LIARS.
Sara shepard recently announced that she is rounding her seires up to a total of 12 even though originally, there were only meant to be 8 books.
Her 9th book called TWISTED will be released on July 5th 2011.

Personally I think she should just leave it as what she has got as I think she is dragging it out a little too much. I mean c'mon, wasn't the 8th book WANTED supposed to wrap everything up?

Wow. This book was incredible.

I'm not sure I can say enough things that will really make people appreciate the meaning of this book, without reading it.
Before I fall is was one of those books which lingers on your mind long after it has been read.
It is one of those books which truly affects you.
It is one of those books which changes your perspective of life.

The main character Sam, was admittedly, a very unlikable character in the beginning. She was snotty, bitchy, and truly horrible. However I have never read a book which has changed my opinions on a main character quite so dramatically as this one does.

I felt that every day Sam woke up, felt real. She ended up waking up on the same day a total of seven times, and even though this book didn't take me that long to read, I felt like the journey I had been on with Sam, had lasted seven days.

The ending was perfect. I cried my eyes out. It was one of those endings which you never in your wildest dreams expect, but when it happens it just suddenly hits you.

This is truly a very insightful book about perhaps what happens to you beyond the grave.

Eeeek! I'm so excited for this one, although admitedly, I still havn't got round to reading the first one as I don't own it. *Sniffs* I'm hoping i'll get it for christmas though!
WOW. Just look at the cover! Both covers are just gorgeous, and the blurb sounds so interesting!

I adore books about mermaids, like the Ingo series. I cannot wait to devour this series!
